Jeremy Cronk - Hitting/Pitching Instructor
Jeremy will be teaching hitting, fielding and pitching at Velocity Farm. He is extremely passionate about ensuring that youth players not only achieve high level results but that they do so in a healthy manner. Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge from his success as a former college athlete and current coach.
Jeremy is the definition of a swiss-army knife, he can do it all. He prepped his first three and a half years in Oregon before moving to North Liberty during his senior year. While in Oregon, Jeremy was a two-sport superstar playing both football and baseball. Jeremy earned all-area honors in baseball as a junior playing at the 5A level. Jeremy caught, pitched and played infield. On the football field, Jeremy was the starting running back and ran for over 1,600 yards and 22 touchdowns his senior year.
During his only year at Iowa City West High, Jeremy led the baseball team in homeruns (13), wins (8), ERA (2.48), and was second on the team in RBI’s (62). Jeremy played catcher, shortstop and pitcher during that 2011 season and earned All-State honors. After high school, Jeremy played collegiately at Northern Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) for two seasons and then signed with Ohio University where he pitched as a junior and senior. Jeremy’s senior year was cut short due to tearing the labrum in his shoulder. That experience, like Coach Heffner’s, has only increased his passion to develop safe training procedures.
Jeremy is currently finishing up his Master’s degree in Business Administration and doing an event management internship with the University of Iowa Athletics Department. Jeremy married his high-school sweetheart this past spring. He and Katie, an elementary school teacher, live in Tiffin.
Jeremy’s personal experience and expertise will be a great addition to Velocity Farm and what Velocity Farm stands for. We couldn’t be more excited to bring a person of Jeremy’s caliber and baseball knowledge to Velocity Farm!
